The International Scout Rally is a weekend gathering of members of the Scouting Movement.
Boy Scout Troop 140 of Cedarville, Michigan is the host and
originator of the International Scout Rally.
The International Scout Rally is always held the third weekend of
September. The Rally is held in Hessel Michigan. This year's 17th annual Rally will start on September
17, 2004.
The International Scout Rally is unique in that it always has and always
will accept Canadian currency on par with the U.S. dollar. Lord
Baden-Powell founded Scouting without borders and the International Scout
Rally accepts all Scouts who wish to participate.
Several countries have been represented over the years but the majority of participants come from Canada and The United States.
Representing Canada are:
Sparks, Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders, Seniors and Leaders of
Girl Guides of Canada. Girl Guides of Canada is all female.
Beavers, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders of Scouts Canada.
Scouts Canada is coed at all levels.
Representing The United States are:
Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadets, Seniors and Leaders of Girl Scouts of America.
Girl Scouts of America is all girls with coed volunteer leadership.
Webelos, Boy Scouts, Venturers, and their Leaders of the Boy Scouts of America.
The Boy Scouts of America has female and male leaders at all levels and the
Venturing
program is
coed.
